Thank You!

Our 2024 campaign for IFPTE Executive Council has concluded. 

While it didn't result in Chris or Colin's election to the Executive Council, we did succeed in many ways. With the help of hundreds of supporters from diverse backgrounds, we showed that there is truly a need in our union for a more organized and energized approach to our work in the federal sector labor movement. More than half of the local unions in the IFPTE Federal Caucus voted for our vision of the future, and the inexcusable neglect of so many locals has been brought to the surface.

The anti-democratic machinations of some of the power brokers in this union shows that our campaign demanded respect and serious engagement. The fact that we were the first campaign anyone can remember in the IFPTE Federal Caucus to communicate directly in print with all rank-and-file members, the first campaign to raise money to support a serious challenge to sitting incumbents, the first campaign  to outline a platform and publish it, all spooked the establishment in our union. Our transparency caused their attacks to fall flat, and our earnestness forced a public conversation where previous "elections" have been pre-orchestrated transfers of power.

We are so humbled by the support so many showed us - whether donating funds, taking our phone calls, providing a platform for us to outline our vision, or meeting up for a drink or a waffle. We are no less dedicated to working for the same outcomes we discussed with each of you, and it is solidarity that will continue to deliver wins for the working class in the federal sector.
